EWD: Engine
and Warning Display

This
screen displays warning messages and all the primary
datas related to engines control. It's the upper
ECAM
|
This module is
the first to be developped with OpenGl technologie. It's
high quality with antialiased rotated fonts, and very fast. You
can change the size of the window, increase the margin between
the window and the instrument, and make it rotate any angle
you want. It's possible to use it on a screen mounted vertically
or to install it inside a cockpit.
A special file
keeps all your settings

A:

N1: It's
the speed of the low pressure compressor. It's the
main parameter for engine drive, although EPR versions
also exists. The area is amber if the engine
is not firing.

B:

EGT:
Exhaust Gaz Temperature.
|
C:
|
N2:
Speed of the high pressure compressor.
|
D:
|
Fuel
Flow: in kg per hour
|
E:
|
Autothrottle
(ATHR) mode display area. In addition the the
N1 limit calculated by the FM it's also displayed: CLB:normal
mode FLEX: derated Take Off power with the corresponding
flex temperature displayed in blue MCT: Maxi
Continuous power, in case of engine failure TOGA: Maximum
Take Off Go Around power.

G:
|
This
area displays the position of slats and flaps. An
animated symbol give a visual representation of
the situation. It's displayed in blue when the control
surfaces are moving, and green when they reach the
commanded position. The commanded position is also
displayed below.

Memo
area: It's displayed a list of systemes used temporarily
in normal conditions or pseudo check lists during
take off and landing phases.
Take
off and landing memos are displayed automatically. The
items are displayed green if they have been completed
and blue in the contrary.

Please note that
this first version doesn't take into account any action on commands
located on the overhead panel. As a consequence, all the corresponding
itmes on take off or landing memos are always displayed green.

warning messages handling will be added soon, in the same time
than the SD (Status display, lower ECAM) developpement
