  ND: Nav Display


 

 

 

The ND is located next to the PFD. It displays all the navigation informations about the vertical and horizontal aircraft situation (Flight Plan).The ND also displays images from the weather radar, TCAS infos with surrounding traffic positions, and RadioNavigation instruments.

 

On this first version can be found all the real ND functionnalities except weather radar (not implemented in FS) and Flight Plan datas (since the ND is not yet connected to a FMGS). All the navigation modes explained below are available.

 

NAV display in NAV mode.
The NAV mode is one of the three 'ROSE' mode, with VOR mode (same without database) and ILS mode (only ILS infos on a HSI)

  

 

1 : Active Flight Phase (calculated by FMGS)
2 : Ground speed
3 : True air speed
4 : Wind (310°/16kt)
5 : VOR1 is selected (here an ILS), ID, frequency, Course (the HSI always works with VOR1)
6 : Heading(360°)
7 : Autopilot Heading/Track marker (360°)
8 : MagneticTrack (003°) cause there is wind from the left
9 : HSI course selected (here ILS course)
9b:Deviation according to selected radial(+/-10°)
9c:TO/FROM indicator (here TO)
10:ADF1 needle
11:VOR2 needle
12:ADF1 infos
13:VOR2 infos
14:Traffic display (here aircraft in level flight, 1000ft above)
15:ND range
16:Database Display (here VORs) 
 


Nav Display in ARC mode

Same display but in ARC mode.
The ARC mode is the most usually used except during approach phases.
